Assess material condition on site
In today’s industry, it is crucial to assess the material condition of components quickly and precisely without disrupting ongoing operations. This is where ambulatory metallography comes into play!
This efficient method enables us to analyze the condition of components directly on site at the customer’s premises. It is particularly useful in the following situations:
Maintaining serviceability: If a component is to remain in use and destruction must be ruled out.
Size of the component: If the component to be analyzed is too large or heavy for laboratory testing.
With ambulatory metallography, we can identify valuable information about the material structure and possible weak points with short interruptions to production. This saves time and costs while ensuring maximum safety.

2. microstructure replicas in the light microscope, the alloy Nimonic 80A is shown as an example. Fine grain -> initial state
3. significant grain growth relative to the initial state -> end of service life in sight
