Particle size and morphology analysis
Precise particle characterization is crucial for the development, quality assurance, and process optimization of modern materials.
With our Microtrac Sync 3R, we offer a hybrid combination of laser diffraction and dynamic image analysis (DIA) – a technology that captures both particle size and distribution as well as detailed morphological information in a single measurement.
This combination overcomes the limitations of classic laser diffraction systems and enables a complete description of the particle population, regardless of shape, transparency, or optical properties.
Our expertise
Comprehensive characterization of particles
Thanks to state-of-the-art optical systems, multiple high-resolution images of each particle group are captured during the measurement. In addition to pure size determination, more than 30 morphology parameters can be evaluated, including length, width, aspect ratio, roundness, and many other structural features.
Wide measurement range
- 0.02 µm to 2000 µm
- Suitable for spherical, non-spherical, porous, transparent, and absorbing particles
- Analysis of individual particles, clusters, and fractions
Benefits for your applications
- Simultaneous size and shape analysis: complete characterization from a single data set
- Increased accuracy and repeatability thanks to hybrid technology
- Faster fault diagnosis in production and quality processes
- Detection of oversize and undersize fractions
- Detailed examination of individual particles or groups
- Improved process control and reproducible product quality
This performance provides deep insight into the physical properties of your materials and enables reliable statements about their behavior in real-world applications.
